Supported tokens
OPALE trades any Universal Protocol BRC-20 token listed on the WhiteNode marketplace. There’s no curated allowlist — if WhiteNode lists it, you can buy, sweep and sell it.
What “Universal Protocol BRC-20” means
Section titled “What “Universal Protocol BRC-20” means”A note for the easily-confused: there are several “BRC-20” things on Bitcoin. They are not interchangeable.
- BRC-20 legacy (Domo, March 2023) — tokens via Ordinals inscriptions, indexed by UniSat / OKX / Magic Eden. OPALE does not support these.
- Universal Protocol (a.k.a. “Universal BRC-20 Extension”) — tokens that ride on top of regular Bitcoin transactions, with the token data tucked into a small piece of the transaction. Different mechanism, different indexers, different marketplace. This is what OPALE supports.
- Runes (Casey Rodarmor) — yet another standard on Bitcoin. Not supported.
If you’ve used a “BRC-20 trading bot” before that worked on UniSat, that one indexed Ordinals BRC-20. OPALE doesn’t — and that’s the point. Universal tokens have their own marketplace and their own ecosystem.
How tokens are identified
Section titled “How tokens are identified”You can target a token by:
- Ticker —
LOL,WTF,OPQT,PROMPT, etc. Case-insensitive. Fast and works for unique tickers. - Contract identifier — unambiguous; copy from 🔎 Browse all or a previous receipt.
- Through 🔎 Browse all — pick from a searchable list of all listed tokens.
When a ticker is ambiguous (multiple tokens share it), OPALE shows the candidates with their listing depth and recent volume so you can pick.
Notable tokens on the protocol
Section titled “Notable tokens on the protocol”These are the larger tokens by listing count and volume — neither curated by OPALE nor recommendations:
| Ticker | Notes |
|---|---|
$LOL | Flagship Universal token. ~8 600 listings, ~8.4 BTC lifetime volume. Native Bitcoin L1. |
$WTF | Second flagship. ~3 600 listings, ~4 BTC. |
$OPQT | Long-tail, smaller volume. |
$PROMPT | Long-tail, smaller volume. |
| ~170 others | Most other Universal tokens have minimal volume — verify before sizing into them. |
Risk note
Section titled “Risk note”Listing on Universal Protocol is permissionless — anyone can deploy a token, anyone can list it on WhiteNode. OPALE’s ability to trade a token is not an endorsement.
Things to actually check before sizing in:
- Listing depth — visible in the buy quote. Thin orderbooks can race away on the next tick.
- Holder concentration — a token where one address holds 80 % can be dumped on you.
- Lifetime volume —
$LOLand$WTFhave years of trading behind them. Most tokens have hours. - Project legitimacy — most Universal tokens are jokes, memes, or speculative. That’s fine, but go in with eyes open.
